I spent quite a bit of time cleaning my work area, setup pretty much like a little clean room. Disassembled the spindle bearings, used solvent to clean up every last tiny bit of old grease, lightly sanded using 7000 grit emery cloth by use of a wooden dowel, cleaned with solvent a 2nd time, cleaned with alcohol. Then pressed the angular contact bearings back together. Packed the 3 bearings about 1/3 full of the NBU 15, rotated manually by hand, then put them on a shaft of a motor I've got on a VFD. Spun them up to about 20 RPM as I used a plastic coffee straw to keep forcing the grease back into the races as it rotated. After about 20 minutes, swapped to the next bearing and repeated, same with the last. I then pressed the seals back into the bearings, located their markings, and pressed back onto the rotar and back into the stator. Snugged everything back up to torque spec and fired up the spindle to 2000 rpm, ran for 20 minutes, then to 4000, 6k,8k, all the way to 18k running 20 minutes at each step. My motor has never ever ran so quietly I the entire history of owning it. I just wanted to personally say THANK YOU and I truly appreciate you taking the time to reference my bearings and calculate the grease spec. You are truly an amazing individual and greatly appreciated. Thank you again.
